In addition to the Census of Foreign Capital conducted, in Brazil, by the Brazilian Central Bank (“Bacen”), for purposes of compiling statistics on the foreign sector, Bacen also requires the delivery of information for the Five-Year Census of Foreign Capital, in the fiscal years ending in zero (0) or five (5), as it is the case of 2021. The base-date for the information delivered is the last year of the immediately precedent fiscal year, as established by Bacen in the Circular No. 3795/2016.
In this year, the Five-Year Foreign Capital Census – Base Year 2020 (“Census 2021”), starts on July 1st, 2021 and information may be delivered until 6 pm of August 16, 2021.

On the other hand, individuals, governmental entities, legal entities that owe transfers of external credits granted by institutions headquartered in Brazil, and non-profit entities maintained by contributions from non-residents, are dismissed from the obligation of delivering the Census information.
Additionally, please note that failure to timely provide the required information, as well as fakeness, omission, inaccuracy or incompletion of
the information, may entail a fine to the company in the amount of up to 250,000,00, according to the Circular No. 3857/2017.
