SPACs (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) are companies with a specific purpose of acquisition that have become increasingly popular in the U.S., arousing interest in investors and promoting the discussion of the topic in Brazil. Thomas Felsberg, our Founding Partner, commented to Valor Econômico that there is a fever of IPOs in the country, but not all companies qualify. By becoming targets of SPACs, these companies can reach the stock exchange without complying with all the standards normally required in terms of governance, accounting and other factors. It will be up to the experience of the “sponsor”, that is, the individual or group that provides support to the company, to improve these standards if applicable.
