The newspaper Valor announced this Friday (09.09.2022) that InvestSP – São Paulo Investment Promotion Agency is seeking European investors for the production of green hydrogen in the State of São Paulo. The idea is to offer a long-term alternative to Russian natural gas.
InvestSP recently opened an office in Munich with the intention of getting closer to entrepreneurs from Germany and other European countries interested in the energy transition. The agency should release shortly an orientation guide with the main information on how to invest in the State of São Paulo.
Despite the northeastern region of Brazil leading the production of clean energy in the country, São Paulo has great potential, especially in regions such as Ribeirão Preto, which will be known to investors due to its sugarcane mills. In addition, the State has important technological centers and qualified law firms that can provide legal advice to companies interested in importing green hydrogen.
Fernando Fritz, who heads the InvestSP office in Germany, is very excited about the opportunity with German entrepreneurs. To the newspaper Valor, the executive said that the pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine accelerated the energy transition process, and that São Paulo has enormous potential to become an important exporter of green hydrogen.
